A Phospha-Oseltamivir Biotin Conjugate as a Strong and Selective Adhesive for the Influenza Virus

The authors report synthesis of biotinylated phospha-oseltamivir that can be applied to influenza virus capturing on Streptavidin biosensors. The phospha-oseltamivir is a known inhibitor of influenza neuraminidase (NA). An Octet RED system equipped with Streptavidin biosensors is used to capture biotinylated oseltamivir and hence NA, providing a stable NA coated surface for H3N2 X31 virus capture. The slow off-rate demonstrated by the NA-coated surface helped in the capture of purified X31 virus.
