For 40 years, we’ve helped scientists harness the full potential of biology with next-generation technology. Here we share the latest in automated, end-to-end solutions that span research disciplines to advance scientific discovery and improve the quality of human life worldwide.
The Revolutionary Promise of Organoids
NEW Interactive Infographic
In the midst of an evolving drug discovery paradigm, researchers worldwide are transitioning their compound screens away from 2D cell cultures and animal models to more complex, human-relevant 3D systems like organoids. For our latest blog post, we developed an interactive web experience that takes you deeper into why the industry is embracing this next generation of drug discovery and the innovations supporting scientists in their 3D biology journey.
This dynamic new interactive experience includes real-world applications and research to show you what’s possible with 3D biology. In addition, it answers common questions associated with next-generation drug discovery.
ELISA applications in Drug Discovery and Development
Ready to unlock the full potential of ELISA?
This new Lab Notes blog covers how our experts use ELISA assays in their research, the specific benefits of this kind of immunoassay, what research directions have been opened up through the use of ELISA, and much more.
Tune in to listen as Dr. Ana Miletic, senior research scientist at Kyowa Kirin, Anna Dey, MSc in Biotechnology at John Hopkins University, and Dr. Cathy Olsen, senior application scientist at Molecular Devices discuss what makes the ELISA stand out and how it can be adapted to the rapidly evolving drug discovery scene.

The Final Episode of our Organoids Mini Series is now live!
Tune in to hear experts discussing scaling up 3D organoids
Over the past few months, we’ve been producing a series of podcasts on organoids – speaking to some leading figures in this exciting research area. The fourth (and final) episode in this mini-series has just been released by Drug Target Review, focusing on scaling up organoid research.
This is a critically important topic, as by scaling up across the workflow – from obtaining the large quantities of reproducible, consistent organoids needed for a robust screening program, to quickly getting actionable, reliable data to take their next step with confidence– scientists can fully access the potential of these powerful 3D models.
Are you aware of whatFLIPR Penta is capable of? Check out all the assays FLIPR Penta can do in the new interactive flyer, and click on each assay to find an application note for it. We also included a diagram that explains the anatomy of this industry-renowned high-throughput cellular screening system.
FLIPR can perform a vast range of assays, including GPCR, membrane potential, cardiomyocytes, potassium channels, ligand-gated calcium channels, 3D assays, and biochemical assays, using kits available on the website. Download the flyer to learn the details.
Quantify TNFa secretion by THP-1-derived macrophages with an AlphaLISA assay
A major cellular component of the tumor microenvironment, tumor-associated macrophages are often associated with poor prognosis and are under investigation as potential targets for anticancer therapy.
In this application note, effects of several anti-inflammatory compounds on TNFα secretion by THP-1-derived macrophages were measured using the AlphaLISA High Performance (HP) Human Tumor Necrosis Factor alpha (TNFα) Detection Kit. Using the SpectraMax i3x Multi-Mode Microplate Readerand this homogeneous assay, picogram levels of TNFα were detected in culture medium removed from THP-1 cells activated with PMA and LPS, and further treated with the compounds SB202190, stattic, and resveratrol.
