Determine total aflatoxin in cannabis using an ELISA method
 
As cannabis is legalized in more states across the US, state agencies are setting their own regulations and requirements for growers, retailers, and testing laboratories. Potential contaminants of cannabis include mycotoxins, toxic byproducts that can cause disease and death in humans or animals when consumed. It’s critical to test cannabis products for the most common and dangerous mycotoxins such as aflatoxins B1, B2, G1, G2, and ochratoxin A.
 
Here, we demonstrate how the AgraQuant Total Aflatoxin 4/40 ELISA kit can be used together with SpectraMax® microplate readers to test for levels of aflatoxins in one of the most common cannabis products, the flower.

Improve nuclear translocation assay results using image deconvolution
 
Widefield microscopy is a powerful tool that has been utilized to investigate cellular and molecular processes involved in cell signaling. Although fluorescent blurring from out-of-focus light is an innate result from all widefield microscopes, image deconvolution algorithms can reverse this out-of-focus light artifact. As a result, images and fine detail become sharper while maintaining quantitative information.

Here, we tested the effects of TNF-α treatment time on the nuclear translocation of NF-κB in HeLa cells.
