Blueshift announces assay development collaboration with Active Motif

Sunnyvale, CA - January 10th, 2005 Blueshift Biotechnologies, Inc. announced today an assay development collaboration with Active Motif of Carlsbad, California. The two companies are working together to convert existing and develop new assays to take advantage of Blueshift's Dynamic Fluorimetry platform. Dynamic Fluorimetry utilizes anisotropy and fluorescent lifetime to improve sensitivity and selectivity in cell and molecular biology research. Assay kits will be jointly developed and marketed and the companies will share in the revenues of these products. Details were not disclosed.

Active Motif is a leading supplier of ELISAs for transcription factor and phospho-protein detection. "The use of fluorescence anisotropy will greatly enhance the information available from our assay kits." According to Joe Fernandez, CEO and founder of Active Motif. "Look for the first of these kits later this year".

Blueshift will launch their new instrument, the IsoCyteTM, at the upcoming LabAutomation 2005 tradeshow on January 30th in San Jose, California.
