MetaMorph Customization
MetaMorph offers a variety of tools for users who want to customize and expand the automation of their experiments.
Macros
For those who want to further automate acquisition, processing, and analysis routines, MetaMorph features sophisticated and powerful macros called journals. Journals record and save a series of tasks without the need for programming. A graphical editor allows for easy creation and editing of journals using a drag-and-drop interface.
Multi User Environment
A multi-user configuration can easily be set up for core facilities, labs with many users, or even for a single user system where the system is used in multiple ways. Each multi-user setting saves configuration, preference, and desktop information. An administration tool is available to obtain usage statistics for each user of the system.
Custom Toolbars and Menus
Custom toolbars and icons enable users to create a task-orientated version of the MetaMorph desktop with quick access to commonly used menu options, taskbars, and journals. For example, users can create a toolbar containing the most commonly used commands in a lab, or one with a sequential list of commands used to perform a specific task.
Custom menus allow users to hide available menu items and create a customized desktop showing a limited subset of controls, or to place journals on the menu to create a customized application.
Extendable with Visual Basic
An extended set of Microsoft Visual Basic (VB) programming functions enable users to create Visual Basic programs that can be run in MetaMorph. Creating VB programs for use in MetaMorph makes it possible for users to process and analyze images within the application using the power and flexibility of a programming language.
