VMax
Kinetic Microplate Reader
The VMax® microplate reader was the first instrument to provide kinetic reading capability, permitting
researchers to monitor and automatically analyze enzyme kinetics in a microplate. Since its introduction in
1987, the VMax reader has expanded the use of microplate readers beyond traditional immunoassays to include a
variety of biochemical analyses.
applications
- Endpoint assays: ELISA (in microplates or as dot blots), total protein, and quantitation of cytoproliferation by MTT reduction or by staining with crystal violet
- Kinetic measurements: enzyme studies, such as determination of enzymes released from cells (Lactate dehydrogenase, serine esterase); ELISA
- Platelet aggregation studies
performance highlights
- Adapts to your assay design; positive or negative single- or dual-wavelength kinetics; endpoint assays with speed read capability
- AUTOmix ensures adequate mixing before and between readings of solid phase reactions, such as ELISA assays
- Onboard microprocessor calculates and reports the rate of reaction for each well
- Integrated instrument control and data analysis with SoftMax® Pro for your Windows® or Mac OS® computer
- Measurement range from 400-750 nm; 0.000 to 4.000 OD
