FLEXIBLE IMAGING SYSTEMS

MDS Analytical Technologies offers three hardware platforms with distinct technologies from which to choose.

All ImageXpress^® imaging systems come with MetaXpress^® software, a complete software solution for screening image acquisition, built on the backbone of the industry leader, MetaMorph^® software.

ImageXpress^MICRO™

The ImageXpress^MICRO™ automated fluorescent microscope features a small footprint and utilizes an optional high-speed laser autofocus. Custom optics provides the most efficient light path and highest resolution possible for imaging with 1X to 100X. This widefield automated microscopy system offers optional environmental control (temperature, CO₂ and humidity), fluidics robot or transmitted light source to provide brightfield and phase contrast imaging capabilities. The platform is "format independent" and can scan 6- to 1536-well microtiter plates or microscope slides.

ImageXpress^ULTRA™

The ImageXpress^ULTRA™ scanner is a fully-integrated true point-scanning confocal automated microscopy system that features up to four lasers providing simultaneous or sequential imaging. Users can configure variable scan size to optimize scan speed or image long structures such as neurons or whole organisms. A software configurable pinhole allows for the precise control of the optical Z-sections and the amount of light collected from the sample. The platform is "format independent" and can scan 6- to 1536-well microtiter plates from most vendors or microscope slides.

IsoCyte™

The IsoCyte™ laser scanning imager is an automation-friendly system that enables robust real-time assays for microarray, bead, cell, colony classification as well small model organisms. Available in either a single or dual laser configuration; choose from 405, 440, 488, 532, and 640 nm excitation wavelengths. Four emission wavelengths can be detected simultaneously. The platform is "format independent" and can scan an entire plate (6- to 1536-wells microtiter plates or microscope slides) in 2-5 minutes.

MetaXpress^®

MetaXpress^® is the imaging software for MDS Analytical Technologies' line of high content imaging instruments, The software provides users with a range of tools to automate acquisition on the ImageXpress^MICRO™ and ImageXpress^ULTRA™ systems and, processing and analysis of cellular images, and offers optional application-specific software modules for common assays.

Application Modules

More than fifteen MetaXpress^® application modules are available for the specialized image segmentation and quantification tasks required by screening assays. Special microscopy, image analysis or cell analysis knowledge is not required. Reliable, reproducible results are generated without writing a single line of code. All the journal tools from MetaMorph^® software are also available for ultimate flexibility.

INTEGRATED CELLULAR INFORMATICS PACKAGE

AcuityXpress™

The AcuityXpress™ cellular informatics software for MDS Analytical Technologies’ Complete Imaging Solution™ is specifically designed to address the needs of high-content data analysis at an enterprise level. AcuityXpress software shares the MDCStore™ database with the MetaXpress software for seamless integration of image acquisition, image analysis and informatics. This integration enables direct linkage of data analysis with the original images for quality control. High-content data is multi-parametric in nature and a number of advanced analysis tools for data mining are easily accessible in the AcuityXpress software.

MetaXpress^PowerCore™

Now with the new MetaXpress^PowerCore™ software, image analysis is never a bottleneck in the race to identify "Hits." INTEGRATED DATA MANAGEMENT SOLUTION

The MDCStore™ Database Solution is a commercial open platform for HCS data providing users with a validated solution to securely access, manage and deploy an HCS data environment. All the components of the Complete Imaging Solution are seamlessly integrated with the MDCStore open relational database tailored to the unique requirements of managing images, segmentation and results. A powerful multi-user client-server architecture that scales from a single user desktop installation to a full enterprise system. The MDCStore Database and File Server Solution is an open platform for HCS data management. TRANSFLUOR^® ASSAY AND REAGENTS

MDS Analytical Technologies also provides cell based reagent kits and Transfluor assay licenses. Transfluor is a cell-based fluorescence assay used to screen for GPCR ligands and other potential drugs that regulate GPCRs.
