Slide Storage and Enclosure
With GenePix SL50 Slide Loader you have the ability to store, load and unload up to 50 microarray slides with speed, precision and care. Each system is supplied with two easy-to-load cassettes, each with 25 slide capacity. The injection molded cassettes are solvent resistant and non-abrasive. Additional cassettes can be ordered to fit individual throughput requirements. The cassettes feature an effective retaining design which allows the slides to be carried safely in a laboratory environment.
Sensors in the slide cassette enclosure always sense the presences and absence of slide cassettes. A graphical display in the GenePix Pro software immediately informs the user about the status of the cassettes if the rack position has been changed.
Robotic Precision
The robotic gripper is featured with the utmost sensing technology to detect and map the microarrays slides in the cassettes. Movement stall detection on every axis provides an added layer of protection to ensure slide integrity is maintained.
Environmental Control
The environment in which microarrays are kept may influence the validity of the experimental results. The design of the slide cassette enclosure ensures light-protection to minimize exposure to light during storage. The Luer port on the back of the slide cassette enclosure enables purging the external storage system with inert gas or ozone-depleted air to control dye damaging effects of ozone or humidity. Systems for ozone-depletion are not available from Molecular Devices.
Sure-Grip
The high speed robotic gripper arm senses the presence or absence of slides to confirm that the slide has been reliably transferred from the cassette into the six-point slide-holder of the scanner and then back into the cassette. In case of an unexpected slide status, the user will be immediately notified. With the always-confirm technology the precise positioning in the slide-holder and safe return placement into the cassettes are ensured and double-checked — adding reliability to any microarray workflow.
Integrated Hardware and Software
The GenePix SL50 Slide Loader, the GenePix 4300 or 4400 microarray scanner and GenePix Pro microarray analysis software have been designed to work together as fully integrated platform. The seamless communication between scanner, slide loader and software ensures unmatched efficiency for data acquisition and analysis, as well as for real time performance monitoring. Optional Acuity microarray informatics software completes the package, offering database storage, clustering algorithms, advanced statistics and visualizations.
