Fast Modular Washer Platform with Affordable Upgrade Path

  AquaMax

  • Modular design is configured for your current microplate formats and applications, while providing for easy and affordable upgrades in the future
  • Comprehensive cleaning functions eliminate the #1 cause of washer failure—clogged wash heads and dispense probes
  • Up to 4-fluid inputs allow multiple users, buffers and solutions without bottle changing
  • Completely self-contained so no need for extraneous pumps or computers
  • Easily integrates into workstations and automation platforms

Molecular Devices is pleased to offer the AquaMax® 2000 and AquaMax® 4000 series of microplate washers. The unique modular design of this new washer platform allows you to configure the system for your current microplate format and applications, while at the same time provides an affordable upgrade path when your assay requirements change. With the AquaMax series of washers, you won’t have to buy expensive equipment up-front in anticipation of your future needs, which means you won’t end up with obsolete equipment when you have to upgrade.  The systems’ 96- and 384-well wash heads are interchangeable to extend the capabilities of the system on a single instrument platform.  The interchangeable heads install in seconds, without the need for tools, calibration or alignment.

The AquaMax system washes the wells of microplate-based biological assays, an integral component of life science research. Primary applications for this instrument include ELISA, immunoassays, and cytotoxicity assays, and many cell-based assays used in high-throughput screening.

The system washes all wells in 96- and 384-well microplates simultaneously, resulting in very fast microplate processing compared to conventional washers that sequentially fill and aspirate wells by strip or quadrant methods.  Intuitive, touch-screen programming gives you a high degree of control over microplate processing parameters resulting in fast and efficient plate washing. Because of the system’s highly efficient washing capability, background interference is minimized and assay sensitivity is maximized.  A comprehensive cleaning routine prevents and eliminates clogged dispense head and probes, the primary cause of microplate washer failure. The unique reverse-flush feature cleans the instrument head, not just the probes. In addition, the air purge feature dries the head and the probes to eliminate mold formation.

Unlike competitive instruments, AquaMax is completely self-contained and does not require external pumps or computers. With the AquaMax series, there is no computer to buy or additional space allocation requirements to consider. Because the system does not require an external vacuum pump sitting on the floor or countertop, you have more valuable laboratory space to use. AquaMax washers are available in two different configurations: AquaMax 2000 has two fluid inlets; AquaMax 4000 has four fluid inlets and additional programming capabilities.
