Features of MetaMorph Version 7.5
64-Bit Support and Windows Vista Support
MetaMorph 7.5 can install as either a native 64-bit application on Windows Vista 64-bit operating systems, or as a native 32-bit application on either Windows XP Pro or Windows Vista operating systems. 64-bit systems can accommodate more memory, allowing more images and larger stacks to be resident. Note that not all supported hardware has drivers that operate in a 64-bit environment or under the Vista operating system; consult with your sales representative.
4D Viewer/3D Measurement Module
The 4D Viewer/3D Measurement module facilitates the visualization of multi dimensional data sets, stacks and sequential images. Users can simultaneously view multiple z sections, wavelengths, time points and stage positions in a single intuitive viewing window as well as binarize multidimensional image data into discrete objects for 3D isosurface viewing and rotation. Isosurfaced objects selected by mouse are linked to an interactive spreadsheet of 3D object measurements including volume, intensity and several other measurement parameters.
Version 7.5 includes the ability to find 3D distances (both between centroids and between closest perimeter) between objects, and to make Colocalization measurements between objects in different channels.
The 4D Viewer can create AVI or Quicktime movies of rotations and of time series.
Available for MetaMorph
Premier, MetaMorph Premier Offline, MetaMorph Basic,
and MetaMorph Basic Offline.

Updated 2D Measurement Module
MetaMorph's powerful IMA (Integrated Morphometry Analysis) module has been updated in Version 7.5 with improved organization of measurement parameters, classification parameters, and data displays. Make the most of this powerful tool to count and classify cells in an image.
Cell Cycle and Multi Wavelength Cell Scoring Application Modules
MetaMorph offers eleven user-friendly Application Modules for biology-specific analysis. Each Application Module features a dedicated dialog box with intuitive setting selections, improved segmentation through adaptation to local content, and both field and cell-by-cell data logging. After analysis is complete, users can interactively view tabular and image results side by side. Application Modules may be incorporated into macros for increased customization and automation of analysis. All Application Modules are validated in-house and with third-party collaborators. Available for MetaMorph Premier, MetaMorph Premier Offline, MetaMorph Basic, and MetaMorph Basic Offline.
The Cell Cycle Application Module performs classification and quantification of cells in different stages of the cell cycle. Specific apoptotic and/or mitotic stains may be used for increased classification accuracy.
The Multi Wavelength Cell Scoring Application module performs multi-parametric analysis of up to seven wavelengths, identifies sup-populations of cells, and measures scoring profiles, wavelength-specific counts and percentages of negative and positive cells, cell-by-cell wavelength-specific stained area, integrated and average intensities.
Figure 1. CHO-K1 cells stained with Hoechst 33342 were imaged with a 20x objective. The Cell Cycle module identifies cell cycle phases: G0/G1 (dark blue), S (light blue), G2 (green), Early M (orange) and Late M (red).

Scan Slide
The Scan Slide module can be configured to automatically scans an area larger than the field of view, by acquiring multiple images and stitching them together—ideal for large tissue samples. Users simply choose the top left corner and bottom right corner of the desired area to acquire, and MetaMorph does the rest. Once MetaMorph has scanned the area and tiled the images on the fly, users can select a region of interest and view a high-resolution image that is automatically stitched. Module includes a step-by-step calibration wizard. Available for MetaMorph Premier and MetaMorph Basic.
Live Replay
Live Replay is designed for capturing real time events such as in FRAP, FRET and other laser-based studies, time lapse experiments, live cell imaging and digital microscopy. When in Live Mode, the software can be configured to constantly buffer a specified duration of recent live video to memory. This buffer allows the interactive capture of complete events of interest, including the buffered duration leading up to the event. Available for MetaMorph Premier and MetaMorph Basic.
