ADP Quest™ and ADP Hunter™ Assays (with DiscoveRx Corporation)

NOTIFY ME when class is available.

A Hands on Training Course on ADP QuestTM and ADP HunterTM assay platforms by DiscoveRx Corporation on Molecular Devices micoplate readers

ADP Quest and ADP Hunter assays are universal detection platforms for phosphate transfer enzymes such as kinases, ATPases and UTPases. The assay measures ADP accumulation and is ideal for determining Michaelis Menten kinetics, substrate and inhibitor profiling, compound mechanism of action as well as conducting high throughput screening campaigns.  Assays are direct, no wash,  gain-of-signal assays with excellent S:B ratios and z'>0.7 and can be run in 96 well, 384 well or 1536 well formats.

Course content:

The course will have both theoretical as well as hands-on demonstration. We will cover the assay principle as well as perform kinase assays using control enzymes and both protein and peptide substrates

Who should attend?

Scientists, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate students from Pharma, Biotech and

Microplate Assays: DNA, Protein Analysis and Immunodetection

NOTIFY ME when class is available.

Every biology lab performs quantitation of protein or nucleic acid. Detection of biomolecules by ELISA (Enzyme linked ImmunoSorbent Assays) is the most widely used application on microplate readers. Traditionally these techniques are performed in absorbance mode. However, with development of more sensitive reagents in fluorescence, luminescence and TR-FRET mode the assays have come a long way.

The training course benefits are:

  • Understanding the science behind the detection methods - traditional and new
  • Keeping updated with new trends in immunodetection

Course content includes:

  • Introduction to absorbance, fluorescence, luminescence, TR-FRET - theory and instrumentation
  • Hands on experiments for nucleic acid quantitation (UV based, Picogreen) and protein quantitation (UV based, BSA, Bradford, nanoorange)
  • Hands on experiments with ELISA in absorbance, fluorescence and luminescence mode; analysis and quality control

Who should attend?

  • Graduate students, post doctoral fellows, research associates, and college students pursuing their careers in the field of Biology

Duration:  2 days
Cost: $700/per person

GPCR on Flexstation® 3

NOTIFY ME when class is available.

G-Protein coupled receptors (GPCR) constitute a major portion of drug discovery targets in the pharmaceutical industry. GPCR response can be quantitated through multiple readouts across the GPCR signal transduction pathways depending upon the type of receptor being studied. There are multiple commercial platforms to measure calcium flux, inositol phosphate 3 formation, cAMP level. These platforms require different detection modes and instrumentation. Learn how Molecular Devices' Flexstation® 3 multi-mode reader with fluidics can be used as a single instrument for capturing distinct data points in GPCR pathways.

The training course benefits are:

  • Becoming an expert on GPCR signal transduction pathways and read outs
  • Hands on experience with commercial kits for measuring Calcium flux, cAMP, and IP3
  • Learning to operate Flexstation® 3, writing protocols, and analyzing the data

Course content includes:

  • Overview of GPCR signal transduction pathway
  • Flexstation® 3: Hardware and Protocol writing
  • Hands on experience on Calcium 4 kit from MD, IPOne™ kit from Cisbio Bioassays, Catchpoint cAMP kit from MD and more
  • Data analysis

Who should attend?

  • GPCR researchers from academia, pharma and biotech industries

Duration:  2 days
Cost: $2000/per person
