Laser capture microdissection and RNA amplification techniques enable gene expression profiling from picogram quantities of RNA. This permits collecting data on tissues with high anatomical resolution and has significant implications for uncovering basic differences in cellular expression as well as studying various diseases, including neurological disorders and cancer. Learn about how to use these techniques with an open-platform gene expression microarray, as well as how to derive biologically relevant information from the data.
